THONÂ is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Our Mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness, and ensure funding for critical research- all in the pursuit of a cure.

Katie
Our youngest and first THON child. We paired with her years ago and have developed a long term relationship with not only her, but her sister and her family. Rylee is extremely outgoing and is involved in school sports, student government, and her school's very own MiniTHON. Rylee plans on attending college when she graduates and is looking at Pitt!
Our oldest and second THON child is determined girl who cares very much about her family's dairy business. Katie recently graduated from high school and has been officially in remission for 2 years! Katie is active in the state fair's competitions for dairy cows and in the last two years she has placed in the top 3 both times. She plans on working with her family on the farm in the future and increasing her knowledge of trade and possibly win in the next state fair!

Sophie
Our third THON Child and newest addition to the Behrend family! We paired with Sophie in 2018, and ever since we have been cultivating a relationship with her and her family. Sophie is an amazing singer and a huge fan of alternative and hip hop music, specifically Tyler the Creator! Sophie is a senior in high school and is extremely involved in her local schools MiniTHON despite her schedule while going through treatment. Recently, Sophie test negative for a biopsy so she is well on her way to remission!
